UPDATE: The Sugar Creek Fire Department says that the blaze, which they believe to have been caused by pulverized car parts, has been under control since 8:45 a.m. An EPA employee and contractor are on standby with air monitoring equipment.
The Sugar Creek, Mo., Fire Department is responding to a fire at the Courtney Ridge Landfill.
According to the department, the fire was reported around midnight Thursday. Bulldozers are on scene moving things around to bury the fire. Firefighters are also trying to put out the flames.

No one is in danger due to the fire, but the fire department has asked nearby residents to shut their windows.
The fire department says the landfill has previously caught on fire.
