4 teens charged in south KC Pizza Hut robbery after suspect accidentally shoots self

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Four teenagers are charged in the robbery of a south Kansas City Pizza Hut after one of the suspects accidentally shot himself.

Ellwyn T. Brown, 18, Ellshaun C. Brown, 18, Bryan C. Byers, 18, and Adrian D. Stallings, 19, are all charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, and stealing a motor vehicle. 

They are accused of robbing a Pizza Hut on the 9500 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. According to court records, witnesses claim four men used force and a black rifle to break glass to get into the building.

While inside, they allegedly ordered victims to empty their pockets, took one person's car keys and stole the car.

Later, police said a gunshot victim showed up at Research Medical Center and said he shot himself in the hand. He also allegedly said he jumped the counter at the Pizza Hut and took money. Police also said he said he was taken to the hospital in the stolen vehicle.

The four defendants were also identified in surveillance photos from the restaurant.

They are each being held on a $75,000 bond.
