KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A brush fire near westbound Interstate 435 at Blue River Road in Kansas City, Missouri, is under control after smoke impacted visibility for drivers on Friday afternoon.
Fire crews from Kansas City, Mo., and nearby cities were called to the scene on the north side of the Interstate just after 2 p.m.
Just after 4 p.m. crews were able to get the fire under control.
The fire covered several acres from I-435 north to a golf course in the area.
Firefighters will be on the scene battling hot spots.
The right two lanes are blocked on westbound I-435 between Grandview Road and West103rd Street.
The fire burned several acres.
