Posted

The metro squad is investigating a shooting at a mobile home park that killed one man and left another injured.

Wailing sirens woke up many residents at the Oak Hill mobile community including Johnny Cruz.

"I noticed the emergency flashing lights -- the red and blue -- going into my bedroom window so I knew something was going on up this way I just didn't know exactly what," Cruz said.

Belton police said officers found two men with gunshot wounds around 3:15 a.m.

One died from his injuries. The other told police a man showed up with a handgun to confront them.

A fight ensued resulting in gunfire and Gabriel Brito's death.

"He had come by once before in the past, wanted to borrow a tire tool and that's basically how I know of him," Cruz said.

Investigators with the metro squad are now looking for a white man, approximately 6 ft tall with a muscular build and a tattoo on his right wrist wanted in the murder of this 29-year-old man.

"He's not really a bad guy, well to do person, that's kind of hard to understand what happened," Cruz said of Brito.
