A mom went into attack mode after she says a man started to sexually assault her daughter at a Kansas City park.

William L. Bates Jr., 24, was accused of attempted kidnapping, attempted sodomy, possession of a controlled substance and assault.

The woman told police she was at Kemp Playground near 9th and Harrison Bates grabbed her daughter off a swing and began assaulting her.

That's when she says she threw herself on the alleged attacker and knocked him to the ground and began hitting him.

According to the probable cause statement, Bates managed to make it away from the park but was later arrested.

The victim's mother later positively identified him to police.
