Officials are investigating after a woman was found shot to death near a vehicle on I-29.
The woman, who has not been identified, was found by a Missouri State Trooper around 10 p.m. Saturday near the 56th Street exit. The trooper pulled over when he saw a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road but found no one inside.
The woman was discovered lying nearby with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital but later died.
