Police are investigating a shooting at a KCMO convenience store early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to The Minit Mart located at 9917 Bannister Rd. around 1:30 a.m.

The store was closed and locked when an armed individual tried getting in.

The clerk was cleaning the store and wouldn't let the man inside. The suspected gunman then began shooting through the glass door.

According to the authorities, the clerk was shot and suffered minor injuries.

The suspect fled the scene shortly after the shooting.

Police closed off the area with crime scene tape, looking for evidence. A K-9 unit searched the perimeter and in the wooded area behind the store.

No arrests have been made. Police says the suspect was a black male wearing all gray sweats and a green bandana over his face.

The same Minit Mart was robbed overnight on January 13, 2016.

If you have any information regarding this case, please call police.
