A health center used to treat emergency behavior health cases closed Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Truman Medical Center.
Truman Medical Centers said in a release Wednesday afternoon that the facility at 1000 E. 24th Street was closing immediately due to federal hospital regulations that prevented the entrance from that facility being within 500 yards to the entrance of the main emergency room.
A release says that patients currently at the facility will be transferred to the hospital’s inpatient facility or another psychiatric facility, while employees will be transferred to other positions within TMC.
Behavioral health patients at the TMC Hospital Hill and Lakewood should not be impacted by the closure.
