KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man suffered critical burns Friday afternoon when paint fumes sparked a flash fire.
Just before 1 p.m., Overland Park firefighters raced to the 8400 block of Kessler St. on a reported fire at a duplex.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but not before two men were injured.
Investigators believe the men were painting or using cleaning equipment when the fumes reached an ignition source.
It wasn’t clear if the men were workers or lived at the duplex.
