UPDATE, July 15 | The two deceased victims are believed to be younger than 11 years old. Two victims remain in critical condition, and the fifth victim is believed to have non-life threatening injuries, according to KCPD.
ORIGINAL STORY, July 14 | Two people died following a Wednesday morning fire in the Northland.
Two more people are critically injured and a third is in stable condition according to a spokeswoman for the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
Just after 11 a.m., KCFD crews were called to the 7200 block of North Avalon Street on reports that the victims were trapped in the house.
Three children, an adult and another victim (age unknown) were transported to area hospitals after the fire.
The ages of the deceased victims were not immediately available.
The KCPD Bomb and Arson Unit responded to the scene and is handling the investigation.
