The head coach of the Blue Valley Tigers football team is in the hospital.
A district spokesperson said Coach Eric Driskell is currently being treated in an intensive care unit.
Dan Harris, who coached Driskell when he played at Baker University, said he was talking football with friends when he collapsed at a restaurant Sunday night.
On Facebook Monday morning, wife Kari Driskell posted that her husband suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm.
In Driskell's post she said they need a miracle. Hundreds of people sent their well wishes and shared stories about the 43-year-old.
Hundreds of people showed up to the Blue Valley football field to pray.
Driskell teaches physical education and weightlifting at Blue Valley, as well as being the head football and track coach.
Driskell coached two state championship teams, in 2010 and 2013. He won the state title playing for Blue Valley back in 1991.
He played on the offensive line for Baker University.
"That's where he and Kati met - got comfortable and really strong. Eventually they got married and started their family," said Dan Harris, former offensive line coach and long time friend.
Driskell was named head football coach in 2010 and was recently honored with the 2016 Kansas Coach of the Year Award.
