KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities are investigating after a body was found inside a partially burnt vehicle in the parking lot of Raymore-Peculiar High School, though foul play is not suspected.
Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Cass County deputies and Peculiar police responded to a car fire at the high school at 20801 South School Road in Peculiar.
Investigators found a vehicle parked in the lot that had been partially burnt. A body was found inside.
Authorities determined the vehicle had not been involved in a crash, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.
The medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death and identify the victim.
Foul play is not suspected, according to the sheriff’s office. The incident remains under investigation.
