Bonner Springs raises smoking age to 21

The Bonner Springs City Council approved an ordinance raising the age of sale of tobacco products from 18 to 21. 

The measure was approved on Monday unanimously by a vote of 9-0. 

Bonner Springs is the eighth municipality to approve Tobacco 21 legislation since the initiative was launched in October 2015.

  • Kansas City, Kansas
  • Independence, Missouri
  • Olathe, Kansas
  • Gladstone, Missouri
  • Iola, Kansas
  • Prairie Village, Kansas
     

Tobacco 21, an effort of Healthy KC, is apart of a regional effort spearheaded by the Greater City Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross and Blue Shield along with 100 businesses and agencies.
