A 23 year-old Butler man was killed in a single vehicle rollover on I-49 near the Harrisonville exit early Sunday morning.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says Alexander M. Jenkins was driving a 2004 Jeep southbound on I-49 when he traveled off the left side of the roadway, hit a guardrail end and began overturning.
He was ejected into the southbound lane of traffic where he was pronounced dead.
Jenkins was not wearing a seatbelt.
Northbound I-49 was shut down at the Harrisonville exit until nearly 7:00 a.m. while troopers worked the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
