KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fire crews were battling a large mulch fire on U.S. 40 near Interstates 70 and 435 early Thursday morning.
Crews were called to the blaze at Missouri Organic Recycling at 7700 E. U.S. 40 around 5:15 a.m.
Later Thursday morning, the fire was contained but continuing to burn. No injuries were reported, according to the Kansas City Fire Department.
U.S. 40 westbound was shut down from I-435 to Manchester Trafficway.
The same company also had a mulch fire in February. It took fire crews days to extinguish the blaze.
