Crews recovered a drowning victim's body at Lake Jacomo early Monday morning.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Sharp said the department received a call around 5:15 Sunday evening of a 50-year-old man, later identified as Preston Henderson, going overboard a boat and that he had not come back up.
Sharp says the man didn't appear to be fishing but on a family outing.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Missouri Highway Patrol, and Lee's Summit Underwater Rescue team searched the area.
"We’ll continue searching as long as it takes," Shard said, "If we don’t have any results by dark then we’ll come back first thing in the morning at first sun up."
