HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — The man found dead earlier this week in a Cass County field was identified Thursday as Robert K. Stewart, 25, of Raytown.
Stewart’s body was discovered around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in a field near the 23500 block of South Airport Road in Harrisonville.
His identity was confirmed Wednesday by an autopsy at the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office, but the cause of death remains undetermined.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, there are no indications of foul play and investigators are awaiting toxicology results, so it may take several weeks to determine a cause of death.
Detectives are still trying to piece together Stewart’s movements and activities in the hours preceding his death.
Investigators believe Stewart recently had been living in the Harrisonville area.
Anyone with information about the incident may call the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at 816-380-5200.
