KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Leawood, Kansas, confirmed that a body was found around 4 p.m. Saturday near the southwest corner of 133rd Street and State Line Road.
Someone walking near a tree line on the property, a sizable undeveloped area where the old State Line Airport used to be, came across the badly decomposed body and called police.
The Johnson County Crime Lab was called in to collect evidence, but the Leawood police will handle the investigation.

There isn’t any information about the body, including sex, because of the state of decomposition, but there are no obvious signs of foul play, Leawood Police Department Public Information Officer Capt. Brad Robbins said.
An autopsy is scheduled Monday to determine the cause of death and give investigators a starting point in the attempt to identify the body.
