Family and friends have not given up on finding Jessica Runions. The 20-year-old has been missing since September 8.
On Sunday morning, people met in front of the old Sam's Club in Grandview to organize search teams to look for Runions. Jamie Runions, Jessica's mother helped organize the search.
"It's been 5 weeks since we've seen her face. It's been 5 weeks since we've seen her smile and it's been 5 weeks since she played with her sisters and laughed," said Jamie Runions.
She was last seen leaving a party with 28-year-old Kylr Yust. He's been charged with burning Jessica's car, but not with her disappearance.
This is the fifth Sunday the family has searched for Jessica, in addition to other searches during the week.
"Whether you're searching, praying, donating whether you're sending your love or anything. We appreciate that," said Jamie Runions. "Kansas City Police Department they're going on duty off duty. They're taking time out of their life just like everybody else is to try to bring Jessica home."
