KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A FedEx truck driver died on I-435 southbound Tuesday morning after the truck caught fire in a crash.
The truck ran into slower traffic near the 23rd Street exit and crashed into the guard rail, police said, wrecking three other vehicles. According to teh report, the truck then caught on fire.
Crews blocked all lanes at Truman Road to the north, forcing rush hour commuters to turn around on the interstate and head back the way they came.
Officials said the people in the other three vehicles were not seriously hurt, but the truck driver died from his injuries.
Authorities have not provided any identifying information about the victim.
It's unknown what was inside the FedEx truck, if anything.
