KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A fire ripped through a home near 35th and Smart in Kansas City just after midnight Friday.
It's a good thing no one was living there; the home went up like matchsticks and was a total loss.
Neighbors came out on the streets around 12:30 a.m. to call authorities and watch fire crews work to put out the flames. The intense fire left burn marks on the home next door.
Investigators will work to determine the cause and where the fire started.
In addition to fire investigators, the Dangerous Building Unit was also looking into the incident.
