Six people were seriously injured during an apartment fire at a senior community in Kansas City, Missouri.
A three-alarm apartment fire broke out at the Paraclete Manor Apartments at 2600 Swope Parkway just before 12 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Initial reports from fire officials said flames were showing on the rear of the second floor with smoke reaching the ninth floor.

The American Red Cross is assisting 23 individuals displaced by the fire and opened up a shelter where residents can stay.
