KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Firefighters arrived at a home near North 43rd Street and Martin Street early Tuesday morning for find heavy flames and smoke coming from the residence.
Crews were alerted to the home on a smoke investigation just after 4:30 a.m.
By the time the second company of firefighters arrived, the entire roof had collapsed in and firefighters began fighting the fire defensively from the outside.
Preliminary investigation revealed the fire most likely started in the rear of the home.
Neighbors told 41 Action News the home is occupied, but no one was home at the time.
No injuries were reported and the house is listed as a total loss.
