The Missouri Senate race is among the most expensive in the country.
More than $64 million has been spent so far, about $42 million of that is from outside groups, according to data from Center for Responsive Politics.
Joshua Stewart, a Spokesperson for the Sunlight Foundation, analyzed the data and found only seven other states have spent more money on this year's Senate race.
"The race is competitive," Steward said. "If the race is in the bag for one or another the outside groups would stir clear."

Outside groups have spent more than $23 million on Sen. Roy Blunt. While outside contributions only account for $18.7 million dollars for Jason Kander's campaign.
Sen. Blunt has also raised more of his own money, about $15 million. Whereas Kander has raised nearly $11 million.

Stewart says more money doesn't always translate into a winning campaign.
"If money meant victory, Jeb Bush would be the republican nominee," Stewart said.
