The Big 12 Tournament is less than two weeks away, and businesses are starting to gear up.

Rally House opened a new location Thursday in the Power and Light District, right across from the Sprint Center.

"It definitely was strategic. We want to get in on that Big 12 action,” store manager Megan Thomas said as she showed 41 Action News the different team merchandise.

Typically, University of Kansas and Kansas State gear are the most popular items at metro-area Rally House stores. But for Big 12, the merchandise changes.

“We have a lot of shirts and gear for Iowa State. We have been told they travel strong,” said Thomas.

More Fans, More Merchandise. Rally House merchandise orders are based on fan attendance:

1  KU

2  K-State

3  Iowa State

4  Baylor

This will be the first time the KC Streetcar is in operation for the Big 12 Tournament and planning is already in the works.

The Street Authority met Thursday to discuss various plans, which include potentially using its four-vehicle fleet.

Other topics discussed at the meeting include having Kansas City Transportation Authority buses ready to provide overflow if the vehicles get too packed as well as possibly extending the operating hours.

Right now the Streetcar runs until 2 a.m. on the weekends.
