KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Firefighters battled two early morning house fires on the city's east side Tuesday.
The call went out just before 6 a.m. at two homes on East 12th Terrace near Ewing Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, one of the homes was fully engulfed in flames.
According to the battalion chief on scene, fire hydrants were an issue. Two fire hydrants were dead due to parts inside being stolen. Firefighters had to locate a third hydrant.
Firefighters on scene said both homes were vacant. There are no injuries at this time.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
