Big 12 fans heading to the Sprint Center or the Power and Light District to watch the games now have a new way to get to their destinations. They can jump on board the KC Streetcar for free.
This year marks the first time the KC Streetcar will be up and running for the tournament.

“I love it,” said Angela Storm, riding the streetcar back from P&L. “I didn’t have to find parking. I just parked down here and rode the [streetcar.]”
City leaders and those with the Kansas City Streetcar Authority hope the streetcar will eliminate traffic and help reduce fans’ stress. Thursday and Friday they will be running all four of their cars.
"For the public, when they see four streetcars they see, ‘Oh my wait time for the streetcar is decreased and that’s wonderful,’ but it takes a lot for the staff to get ready for that,” said Donna Mandelbaum, communications director for the Kansas City Streetcar Authority.

The streetcar’s hours will remain the same. All cars will run until midnight Thursday and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
