KCFD firefighters rescue 1 person from burning duplex

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was injured Tuesday in a fire at a residence in Kansas City, Missouri.

KCFD crews responded shortly after 5 p.m. to a structure fire at a duplex in the 8500 block of Sni-A-Bar Road, which is located about 2 1/2 miles south of the Harry S. Truman Sports Complex.

Firefighters, who had the blaze under control within 10 minutes of arriving on scene, rescued one person from inside the burning structure.

The unidentified person was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. There is no information on the person's condition at this time.

KCPD officers closed a section of Sni-A-Bar Road as firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated the scene.
