Person injured in overnight KCK fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department says a home caught fire around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday morning near Waverly Avenue and North 29th Street.

Search and rescue teams did a primary search of the structure and found no occupants inside.

They did find one person outside the home with smoke inhalation. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire is under control.

A fire investigator arrived on scene overnight to begin their investigation into the cause.
