Neighbors who work near 72nd and Prospect are joining together to help remove violence from their community.
"We need to stop the violence and bring some positive stories to our community, " said Rodj-Rika Ward, the owner of the Tax Ward. "We will provide financial classes for our youth and help them get jobs to keep them out of trouble."
In the past two weeks there have been two different shootings in the area of 72nd and Wabash in Kansas City.
The Tax Ward is hosting a community event that's open to the public on September 10 at 1 p.m.
