Missing KC person found dead in Blind Pony Lake

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, a missing person from Kansas City, Missouri, was found dead Tuesday at a central Missouri lake.

A conservation agent reached out to Saline County authorities after locating personal property, which belonged to the missing person, on the bank of Blind Pony Lake.

During a search of the area, deputies found the missing person’s body around 1 p.m. in the water in a cove to the north.

Blind Pony Lake is located northeast of Sweet Springs, Missouri, and southwest of Marshall, Missouri. It is north of Interstate 70 in rural eastern Saline County.

The Saline County sheriff informed the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office of the discovery and indicated family had been contacted, but police have not publicly identified the deceased person.

There is no indication of foul play, but an autopsy will be conducted.
