KANSAS CITY, Mo. — While it's not the Kansas school many Mizzou fans hoped to renew their rivalry with, Thursday MU announced it's agreed to a home-and-home football series with Kansas State.

In a release, MU Directors of Athletics Jim Sterk said, "We are excited about the opportunity to resume this long-time series and believe this will be a great series for our fans."

The two schools first played in 1909, but haven't since 2011. Mizzou left for the SEC the following year.

"The combination of needing a Power Five opponent on the schedule each year and being able to work with a regional institution that we have such a strong football history with, made perfect sense for K-State," said KSU Athletics Director Gene Taylor. "I know our fans will be excited to play the Tigers again."

The first game is set for Sept. 10, 2022, in Manhattan, Kan. The series will shift to Columbia, Mo. on Sept. 16, 2023.
