Thirty-three people have been displaced after a fire at a Lenexa apartment building Friday afternoon.

The Lenexa Fire Department received a call at 12:57 p.m. to the Meadows Apartments. Several fire crews came to assist, and the fire was controlled by about 2 p.m.

The fire department said there were no injuries.

Fire officials believe the fire started on the third floor of one of the buildings, but they don’t know what caused it yet.

There was smoke and water damage to the building and surrounding buildings.

The Red Cross is assisting families that are displaced after the fire.
