Nineteen people from four different families are without a place to stay after an apartment fire early Sunday morning, according to the Red Cross.
Fire crews were called to 1034 Woodland Ave. after 4:00 a.m. Sunday. The Kansas City Fire Department used one of their ambulances to keep residents warm as they waited for a taxi to a local hotel.
No injuries were reported, but four families have been displaced.
Fire damage was not visible from the exterior of the building.
The cause of the fire, nor any other information has been released.
