KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were confirmed dead in a Northland house fire Monday morning.
Kansas City, Missouri, firefighters were on the scene of the fire on Northeast Seattle Avenue, just off of Vivion Road.
The fire call went out just before 5 a.m.
41 Action News crews on scene said flames were still visible as of 5:15 a.m.
"The crews were met with heavy fire upon arrival. We aggressively tried to enter the home. Once we did, we immediately found a male victim," Deputy Fire Chief Jimmy Walker said.
Fire officials on scene confirmed two people were killed in the blaze. They said the two people were a brother and sister in their 60s and that the woman had Alzheimer's. Their identities have not been released.
"My heart is racing a little," admitted neighbor Drake Eidson, when he found out the siblings had died.
Officials said the fire is not suspicious at this time, but the KCPD bomb and arson squad is conducting an investigation.
