PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. – A Platte County mother is facing child endangerment charges after her 1-year-old daughter tested positive for meth.

Late Tuesday, Platte County, Mo. prosecutors charged Brionna Colvin, 23, of Kansas City, with one count of child engenderment the little girl tested positive.

According to court documents obtained by 41 Action News, Colvin admitted to police that she would test positive for meth and that she had used meth around her child during a call in August.

When doctors at Children’s Mercy tested the urine of her daughter, they found high enough levels to indicate the child had ingested the meth, not just been exposed to it.

When police told her of the positive test, Colvin replied “that’s very disturbing.”

Prosecutors have requested a $5,000 bond.
