Kansas City police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck on Highway 71 Sunday evening.
Authorities say the incident happened around 11 p.m. in the northbound lanes where Highway 71 meets Highway 29, just north of I-670.
Officials couldn't comment on how the pedestrian might have been so close to traffic or what led up to the accident.
