A police pursuit ended after a stolen truck crashed and flipped on the 18th Street Expressway on Tuesday afternoon.

Kansas City, Missouri, police started to chase a Black Dodge Ram 1500 in Kansas City. After the chase crossed into Kansas, the Kansas Highway Patrol began to pursue the stolen vehicle.

A KHP vehicle clipped the truck, and then the truck flipped and crashed on 18th Street Expressway.

KHP spokeswoman Candice Breshears said the technique a trooper used to stop the truck is called a technical vehicle involvement. Breshears said troopers undergo training to use the technique, including assessing traffic on the roadway. Breshears said it's used across the state.

Police said a woman was driving the vehicle. Emergency crews were called to the scene.

The driver was carried off on a stretcher by medical first responders and taken to a hospital. She was later transported from the hospital to jail.
