Hospital officials said the incident took place near the health administration building, which is not a building where children receive treatment.
The suspect allegedly used a knife and hammer to steal a 2002 Mazda with the license plate UJE V6K.
Police are searching for the suspect. He is described as a black man in his 20s, around 5'7" tall who is wearing an orange or red hoodie.
Two female employees were injured and taken to the hospital. They are said to be in good condition.
Hospital officials are going through surveillance video to see if anything was caught on camera.
