Shuster was killed inside an Overland Park apartment home Thursday afternoon.
Police were called to The Lodge apartment homes in the 7500 block of 106th Street around 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
Officers discovered Shuster shot to death inside one of the units. A woman was also shot at but was not hurt.
“This area is a really nice area,” said Officer John Lacy. “I think this is an isolated incident and we’re going to look more into and see what’s going on.”
Multiple neighbors told 41 Action News they’ve never felt unsafe or heard gunfire in this complex before.
“It’s kinda scary, you know not realizing what is really going on,” said Miguel Sanchez Martinez, who has lived at The Lodge for more than six years. “But this is unusual, this doesn’t happen.”
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information you're asked to call the Overland Park Police Department at 913-895-6300 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
