KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A small, private plane headed to Iowa made an emergency landing Thursday afternoon in Clay County.
The plane, a single-engine Beechcraft A36 Bonanza, made the unscheduled landing in the 20600 block of Old 210 Highway around 1:20 p.m., according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
The pilot reported losing engine power before the emergency landing near the Liberty Landing Airport.
According to preliminary information from the Federal Aviation Administration, which is handling the investigation, the plane was flying from Lee's Summit Municipal Airport to Waterloo, Iowa.
The plane appeared to have skidded off the road into a field after landing.
There were no injuries reported.
