ORIGINAL STORY|

Many members of the TITLE Boxing Club are hanging up their gloves until further notice.

"It was Sunday when we got a notification by email," said member Kristina Stricklin.

On Sunday, December 27 three locations opened their doors for the last time.

Kristina Stricklin was working out at the Blue Springs location the day before.

She had no idea.

"There was no information. No sad faces. No explanation. We had no idea."

Stricklin said she left her class and saw a new member signing up.

"Oh yes, there was a customer signing up as I was walking out."

TITLE Boxing Club suddenly closed its locations in Blue Springs, Liberty, and Lee's Summit after Christmas.

A note on the door indicates those locations could not meet their financial obligations and offered an email address to members who want to transfer their membership.

Otherwise, memberships were canceled as of December 31, 2015.

"They've referred us to corporate and corporate refers us to the franchise owners," Stricklin explained. " I paid for a full year membership. So now I'm without that money to purchase something else to help me work out."

Stricklin said she's down more than $800, and without a weekly routine that changed her life.

"It's pretty devastating because I've lost my friends, lost my family, I lost my work out, and there's not a replacement."

Two local facilities are offering discounts for TITLE Boxing Club members who lost their memberships.
