Two area women killed, two children injured in Oklahoma crash

DURANT, Ok. - Two local women were killed, and two children injured in a crash on U.S. 69 outside Durant, Oklahoma Saturday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Quentin Brooks, 35, of Overland Park was driving a 2009 Chevy Malibu southbound when he hit a semi in front of him, and overturned in the median.

Jamesha Brooks, 25, of Overland Park was pronounced dead at the scene.

Maurtica Britt, 25, of Kansas City, Ks. was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Two juveniles, a three year old boy and five year old girl were admitted to an area hospital in stable condition.

Quentin Brooks refused treatment at the scene.

The driver of the semi, Abdul Danishjo, 28, of Allen, Texas was not injured.

Troopers say inattentive driving led to the crash.

Both drivers were tested to determine if any drugs or alcohol may have played a role.

Troopers have also not yet determined if  seatbelts were in use.
