Two people were injured in a house explosion. It happened near Bethany and Lowell Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas just before 8 p.m. Saturday.
Jocelyn Tovar lives a few houses down the street and recalled hearing the explosion and feeling her house shake.
"I felt an explosion. My whole house shook. I came running out with our kids cause I thought my house was falling in," she said.
Tovar called 911 and reported the destructive blaze. At the time she did not know if someone was inside the home.
"She asked me if anybody was inside, and I let her know that I wasn't sure because I don't see people coming in and out of that house much," said Tovar.
Family members told 41 Action News that a brother and sister were inside the house and somehow survived the blast. Paramedics rushed both to the hospital with second and third degree burns.
"They were saying it might have been the gas line but come to find out there's no gas turned on at that house, so I don't know how," said Tovar.
Fire investigators in KCK have not released the cause of the explosion.
