UPDATE 9:20 P.M. 5/15/2017: Officials say the man shot and killed during a home invasion early Sunday is Lonnie Black, 35.
ORIGINAL STORY:
An intruder was shot and killed by an occupant of a home in the 400 block of E. 69th Street early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the shooting just before 4:00 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers learned the shooting was a result of a home invasion. The suspect was shot by an occupant inside the home.
The suspect, only described as a black male, unknown age, was dead at the scene.
A second occupant of the home was also shot but suffered only minor injuries.
An investigation is underway.
