What is Edgemoor planning for KCI?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The KCI Terminal Development Committee has selected Edgemoor as their recommendation for the company to build a new single-terminal airport for Kansas City.

But Edgemoore has kept mostly tight-lipped during the selection process, leaving the public without a clear picture of their vision for KCI.

Edgemoor, a Maryland-based company has teamed up locally with the Clarkson company, company that's known for their work on roadways across the Kansas City metro and has been around for six generations.

"They presented a detailed plan schedule and risk analysis for meeting its on time and budget commitment to the city," Jolie Justus, the KCMO council member for the fourth district said Tuesday.

41 Action News caught up with a representative back in mid-August who provided a glimpse at the company's vision for the new terminal.

"It's really all about the customer experience first and foremost so what drives a passengers from the moment they show up. How do they get to the airport? Can they move through the airport seamlessly? Is the technology appropriate in terms of wi-fi and other connections?" Geoffrey Stricker, with Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, said on August 14.

Edgemoor is also tied to the construction of a science facility at the University of Kansas that's currently underway in Lawrence.

"The strength of our team and our track record of success had underwriters saying 'can we be on your team?' so I think we have a great track record with wall street to get a project over the goal line," Stricker said in August.
