The man accused of sexually abusing veterans at the Leavenworth VA, Mark Wisner, was taken to jail Friday after prosecutors filed a new charge against him and requested an arrest warrant.

"Today, we filed a new complaint of aggravated sexual battery or the touching of someone over 16 while they were somewhat incapacitated, any type of influence. I’m not going to go into the facts," commented Leavenworth County District Attorney Todd Thompson.
The new charge is added to multiple other charges against Wisner, which were filed last year.
The complaint does not state if the victim is related to Wisner's time working at the Leavenworth VA hospital.
The alleged abuse happened between January 2012 and May 19, 2014 in Leavenworth County.
Wisner also got rid of his court-appointed attorney, Debra Snider, on Friday.
Snider said she discovered a "conflict" during her investigation and made Wisner aware. Wisner then chose to withdraw her from his case.
"It has to do with a potential witness in the case and I can’t say anything further," Snider said.
41 Action News requested more information on the new complaint. Pending the judge's approval, we will receive more information next week.
Wisner is scheduled to be back in court July 6 at 11:00 a.m.
Wisner declined to answer any of our questions.
