A new poll released Tuesday by Monmouth University shows a near tie in Missouri between presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Trump, the Republican nominee, holds a one-point edge over Democratic nominee Clinton, 44 percent to 43 percent, with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson polling in third at 8 percent. Another 5 percent of voters haven’t made up their minds.
The poll, conducted between Aug. 19 through Aug. 22, surveyed 401 likely Missouri voters. The margin of error was +/- 4.9 percent.
The presidential race isn’t the only race being watched closely in Missouri.
Down ballot, Republican incumbent Sen. Roy Blunt holds a five-point lead over Democratic challenger and Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander, 48 percent to 43 percent. Seven percent of likely voters said they were undecided.
In a hotly-contested race for governor, Missouri Attorney General and Democrat Chris Koster holds an 11-point edge over political newcomer Eric Greitens.
