POLICE: Two burglars arrested after officer-involved shooting in Raytown

A police officer shot a man during a home burglary on Sunday night in Raytown, Missouri.

Authorities responded to a residential burglar alarm around 9:40 p.m. in the 6200 block of Ralston Avenue.

After arriving to the home, officers found two men inside. One of the men pointed a handgun at police. An officer then fired once and struck one of the men in the abdomen. The man who was shot was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the other man was taken into custody.

No police officers were injured and the officer who shot the burglar was placed on leave while the investigation continues.
