Blue Valley School District named Dr. Todd White as its new superintendent on Tuesday morning.

According to the district, White agreed to a 3-year contract worth $230,000 plus benefits. White is currently serving as the assistant superintendent in the Blue Valley School District.
“It is abundantly clear that a shared focus and collaborative spirit exists between staff, students, board and community,” White said. “The synergy that is present today in Blue Valley is a tribute to the past and is the key to student success in the future.”

White has served a combined 13 years as a superintendent for the Harrisonville School District and North Kansas City School District, and has worked in education for over 30 years.
The school board unanimously approved the appointment of White, 7-0.
“It was important for us to find a leader who shared our community’s values and goals,” said Mike Seitz, Board of Education president. “No one we met was a better fit to lead Blue Valley Schools than Todd White. He is the right choice to take us to the next level of achievement.”
The Blue Valley School District has been looking for a new superintendent since June 2015. White is expected to start July 1.
